That's a fine suggestion if you're dealing with raw, text and not worried about fonts and styles, but this text is in a Quark document which could contain numerous style and font changes, as well as a few Quark specific characters that handle such things as soft return, new columns, next text box etc., which a scriptable text editor might mangle or ignore.

The OP's script and the solution I posted generally maintain the styles applied to the text within the Quark doc.

But, to build on Marc's suggestion, since Quark has a fairly robust text editor, the best solution would be to script Quark's own Find and Replace feature, but, at least in Quark 4.x, I don't think that's an option.

(Even when dealing with raw text, I think using TID's is faster than scripting find and replace in most text editors, but both work).
