Sound Input Device Selection...

Hello, I was wondering if someone could shed some light on to an issue I'm having. I need to find out how to specify the "Device for sound input". I have a small script which performs a bunch of settings and one of them is to set the Input Volume to 0, but if the device is set to "Digital In" it won't set.
