AppleEvent for fast user switching?

Is there an event that you can write a handler for when someone re-logs into their already active account via fast user switching?

What I'm thinking of is (for example) when one of the other users sets the system hardware (or other options that are system-level, not user level) is there a way when the previous user logs back into his account that an AppleScript handler could detect the re-login and take appropriate measures to restore the system settings to normal?

Specifically, I'm speaking about the sound hardware: sound on/off, volume, input microphone, output speakers, etc.?
