That's not the _only_ reason.  And, besides, here you have no script trying
to find it in this case -- just Script Editor trying to read its
terminology.  Which is what others have said. And what the read me says (as
PB said.)

Some apps have always needed to launch, and consequently launched, when a
script editor needed to access the dictionary terminology.
