getting an ical event by uid

Hi,

I'm considering using AppleScript to query iCal from a Cocoa application. Before I start delving into it, could someone tell me if AppleScript is a good solution for the following scenario:

- get a calendar and event by their uids (which I got from a drag&drop event from iCal)
- get all data for that event and return it

Do you think AS is a good way of doing this (considering that there is no other official API for iCal...)? And if so, could you show me some example code?

Cheers,
Knud
