Title: Extracting text from an Retrospect Log
Hello Applescripters and Terminal fans,
I’m trying to extract the last Backup-log-part from the retrospect log file. Best would be if this is stuff would be in a seperate file which I can than send by email if an error occured.
here is an part of my currently log file and I need every line down from the last occurence of “∆ $[31]Retrospect$[32] version 5.1.177:
------ snipp---
∆ $[31]Retrospect$[32] version 5.1.177
launched at 13.03.2006 10:04 Uhr
+ Retrospect Driver Update, version 4.3.103
Quit at 13.03.2006 11:16 Uhr
∆ $[31]Retrospect$[32] version 5.1.177
launched at 13.03.2006 13:16 Uhr
+ Retrospect Driver Update, version 4.3.103
+ Normal backup using $[24]test$[25] at 13.03.2006 13:17 Uhr
To backup set $[*!s301,,14,+3]test…
- 13.03.2006 13:17:21 Uhr: Copying $[*!s302,,14,+3]Mail ƒ on $[35]Tempix$[36]…
13.03.2006 13:17:21 Uhr: No files need to be copied.
13.03.2006 13:17:26 Uhr: Execution completed successfully.$[3225100641]
Duration: 00:00:05 (00:00:02 idle/loading/preparing)
------ snapp---
I’m sure, that some smart person can do this with only one command in the terminal but unfortunatly thats not me :-((
It would be very nice, if the resulting file come up in the /tmp and if everything which is in between $[xxxxx] is removed.
All ideas are welcome
best regards
Michael
