How far back?

  • Thread-topic: How far back?

I'm not able to track down changes in Finder scripting through the various
OS's - there are no Release Notes as for AppleScript itself (and those have
got much harder to find, aside from v1.10, but are still around). I'm trying
to find out if the following properties of 'item' and its subclasses go back
to OS 10.2:

URL (also URL property of 'disk item' in System Events?)
    owner
    owner privileges
    group privileges
    everyones privileges

Has anyone had any trouble setting privileges, or owner, in Finder
scripting, as opposed to via a chmod shell script? There doesn't seem to be
an opportunity to provide a password using equivalent of sudo - does the
user get asked in the usual way when appropriate?
