Here is some info from Xinet concerning Quark. Indesign may or may not
have the same issues.

"According to Quark there are significant problems with scriptable
XTensions.
The problem is that you can not register for any of the standard suite
of commands, like get/set/make, which means that the syntax for any
XTension scripting would be very bizarre."
