If you want to create your own with Xcode, I've got a template project. I
haven't updated the instructions to make sure they precisely match ensuing
Xcode versions, but it still works. I just opened the project in Xcode 2.2.1
and followed the instructions and it seemed fine. You'll have to handle the
upgrade prompt when you first open the project file, but that shouldn't pose
much difficulty. I'll try to offer advice if it does.
There are two valuable features of Toolbars. First, it doesn't cost you
anything but a little time whether you like it or not, and second, the
built-in checkboxes (Float and Hide if not Floating) actually give you a
substantial amount of control over how the toolbar behaves. And you can
customize however you like.
