You're not going to get around some dialogs.  I don't think the problem is
about 'activating', it's about dialogs being modal or not.

Again, the lack of understanding of the basic task and conditions (except by
inference) is probably hindering other useful ideas.

Are you trying to reach a FM field to copy something, or to copy something
from a dialog?

What's the dialog? From where does it come? Is the dialog modal?
