Temporary Items, Automator, Finder Bug?
Temporary Items, Automator, Finder Bug?

Short version:
If I run *any* Automator action from the Finder's contextual
menu, the Temporary Items folder in the user domain (~/
Library/Caches/Temporary Items/) is deleted. When I run a
script to get it back, nothing happens--it won't recreate the
Temporary Items folder. I have to relaunch the Finder, then
run the script, then it will recreate the Temporary Items
folder.
Long version:
I open a Finder window to the user domain Temporary Items
folder (~/Library/Caches/Temporary Items/). I then run *any*
Automator action from the Finder's contextual menu on some
random files on the Desktop. Automator writes some files to
the Temporary Items folder (usually something like
"com.apple.automatorE#f7u"). When the action is finished
running, the Temporary Items folder completely disappears.
If I run the script:
get path to temporary items folder from user domain with folder creation
it returns an error--object not found.
If I relaunch the Finder and run the exact same script, it
recreates the Temporary Items folder as expected.
Am I missing something? Any ideas what's going on or how to
fix it?
Thanks
