URL Access Scripting

I am trying to use URL access scripting on 10.2 Jaguar. I have a personal ftp space with my broadband provider that I am attempting to upload files to. But I keep getting the error message:
URL Access Scripting got an error: Some parameter is missing for upload.
I have tried using "with authentication" but it never asks for my username and password. I then tried pre-pending that information in the usual ftp URL fashion:
ftp://username:email@hidden/
with no success. The script is a short one:
set myFile to choose file with prompt "Select file to upload" of type "JPEG"
set myURL to choose URL showing FTP Servers with editable URL
tell application "URL Access Scripting"
upload myFile replacing yes with authentication
end tell
display dialog "Done uploading " & name of myFile
And I wonder if the problem is related to the fact that I cannot write to my ftp directory from the Finder, either. I can mount the directory, but it is read only even when authenticated. Yet Interarchy and command line ftp have no problems. Any ideas?
