AppleScript Error

  • Subject: AppleScript Error
  • From: Jim Brandt <email@hidden>

I have a script that is supposed to manipulate the files in a folder.
It has been working for some time without error. In about the last month,
it has stopped working when run from the script menu. It processes
the first file in the list, then pops up the dialog:

	AppleScript Error

The script is flawed or AppleScript is installed improperly.
Press "Edit" to edit the script in Script Editor.

If I run the script from the Script Editor, it works flawlessly.
I have compiled and saved after running from the Editor
but the compiled version still doesn't run from the menu.

Any suggestions as to what might be the cause of the error?
Could there be some corrupt preference file that is only
invoked when a script is run directly from disk?

Is there a way to only install AppleScript, without going
through a complete re-install of Tiger?

TIA,

Jim Brandt
