Writing to a text file followed by a FileMaker Import is another good alternative, although I think there is more scripting involved than with the alternative of adding "with data" to the creation of a new record and setting up a specific layout with the fields in the right order.

Whenever I've had large amounts of data to import I've often preferred to write a text file and import it.
