[OT] recombine resource and data fork

I think I had a Dilbert moment today. I moved someone's Palm data from an old Mac (OS 9) to a new one (OS X) via a USB key - it didn't have FireWire - and it split the file into a data and a resource fork. If forgot about the file format business. Now Both pieces are on the new Mac. Is there a way to stitch them back together? I figured that if any list I'm on has someone who knows, it's this one. I googled several word combinations, but didn't turn up anything of use.

Thanks,
 - web
