Extract from QuarkXPress

  • Subject: Extract from QuarkXPress

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could advise me/point in the direction of some helpful website(s) for extracting text and image filenames from Quark into a database.

It would be OK in two steps, first extract the information from Quark, then secondly insert the information into a database.

I'm not too bothered about the second part, yet, mainly because it is going to be a Windows based database (Access or SQL Server) and I think I know how to do that.

The part that I haven't got a clue about is extracting the data from Quark. I have used Applescript and QuarkXPress before, I have successfully created an application to perform the visa-versa function (namely to extract information from a SQL Server database and populate a Quark document). I have searched the internet quite a bit, but only end up with links to software packages.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Cheers,
David Bradley
