Can anyone confirm or contradict that?"

For my part, the case is closed and in the most positive way. I thank you all, and in particularly Christopher Herbel.
I went to an Apple Store and runned the following test:
I saved the code shown in my second posting, in the four possible ways in AppleScript.
I checked the file types with the help of ”Show Info" in Finder.
I found no information about the file types for the 'script file' or the 'bundled script file'. But the 'application file' was shown saved as a PPC file, while the 'bundled application file' was saved as a Universal file.
I runned the four files on an Intel iMac. The two types of script files and the application file took approximately 25 seconds to run - the fourth file, the 'bundled application file', took approximately 1 second to run.
My easy conclusion from this: there is no problem in running AppleScript on Intel Mac's as long as the script files are saved as application bundles.
The only thing I find surprising is that Rosetta is so slow - approximately 25 times slower as it seems.
