Hi David,

I can't help with the specifics, but back in the mists of time I did quite a lot of automating Acrobat stuff You'll find that you can do heaps more via _javascript_ than via AppleScript. 

A very useful technique is to find out how to do what you want to do in _javascript_ and use Acrobat's 'do script' in AppleScript to execute the command. Not a pretty method, but it works.

Have a look for the Acrobat _javascript_ Reference on Adobe's site somewhere, that should give you some info on whether it's do-able or not.
