Your script works nicely on my computer. Perhaps, if this is only part of the script, the error is elsewhere.

I tried this, but it doesn't seem to work. When I enter the osascript part
directly in terminal I get a long list of errors.


osascript -e 'tell application "iTunes" to if player state is playing then "Now Playing: " & name of current track & " - " & artist of current track'
