Thanks everyone for the advice. Indeed the text files I intend to work
with are delimited. I'll try your suggestion to see if I can get it
working with Applescript. In the mean time however, I got Automator to
handle the opening of the files (Open Finder Items->Open With->MS Excel)
and then plugged in a "run Applescipt" action to complete the rest of my
script. This'll keep me going until I brush up on the basics. ;)
