Actually I already have multiple scripts that are attached to the single folder that work in a similar way. If the property fails, the script does not run.
So one script for each memory stick enables the right folder to receive the backup. However I dislike using the failure of the script as a method of selecting which stick gets backed up.
I also would prefer to have a single script deal with all the memory sticks if possible.

So . . . as long as your various memory sticks have different names; then just write a script for each stick and use this pref pane to execute the right script when the right memory stick is inserted.
