File kind not consistent

  • Subject: File kind not consistent

Hi all,

After instituting the script pieces this list so kindly assisted me with
recently (re: type null X 4) I have just noticed that the "file Kind" can
show different for a single file on different Macs. I would have thought
that it would be a hard-wired value within the file.

I have an EPS that reports as kind: "EPS File" on my Mac but on another
Mac it shows as kind: "NSPostScriptPboardType".

What determines the "kind" value of a file? It changing kinda makes it
hard to test for!!!

Cheers,

Cojcolds
