Thanks so much kai! That worked! The missing piece I forgot was on this
external (non startup) drive....
/Volumes/ - like:
set fold to text 1 thru -2 of (POSIX path of ("/Volumes/MacHD/aTest/"))
NOW IT WORKS GREAT!
