2. do shell script "identify -verbose quoted_path_to_image_file.jpg"
Output (which is a lot!) includes:
Compression: JPEG
Quality: 93
Orientation: Undefined
JPEG-Colorspace: 2
JPEG-Sampling-factors: 2x2,1x1,1x1
