Is it possible to convert styled text into some more useful format?
In my dictionary "useful" mean some text based format like XML,
markdown, restructured text, latex, or in some text based format
that can be manipulated further.
I wrote a script a while ago to take styled text from the clipboard,
paste it into a new textedit document, save as html, then copy the
html back to the clipboard. Alas, I can no longer find the script,
but I can attest to its existence. It was very clumsy, but it worked.
Oh. I should have tested that first. Pages (as of iWork '06) does
accept to paste styled text, and then it can export as html. Not the
most concise of all htmls, as you can guess, but it does the job
quite well.
