Ok, this is totally unrelated to AppleScript, but this list includes

Google has so far been no help.

I have a samba (3.0.4) server running on Linux. Other Linux clients
and Windows clients have no trouble using it. But on a Tiger Mac, I am
unable to write to it via the Finder.. I mount it fine (using
Connect to...). It doesn't show up as locked or readonly. But it
claims to have 0KB of available space.

It must be a Finder issue, because I can write files fine via
smbclient running on the same Mac with the same credentials.

Any ideas?

Perhaps Darwinos-users <http://lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/ darwinos-users> or Darwin-dev might be a better list? Those folks may be able to refer you to yet another list since windowserver apps aren't discussed much :-). I've seen the 0KB for a disk before but can't immediately remember under what circumstance.

tell application "System Events"
	properties of every disk
end tell
