That’s just one of many AppleScript related questions for Apple. There’s hundreds, maybe thousands. No idea why they don’t build everything into AppleScript in the next release.  ; )

In this case Apple has gone pretty far in providing access to XML data, but some would say not far enough.

There’s only so much time and so many programmers.

In this case, though, Apple has gone from having nothing to something, and that’s a good thing.

The AppleScript documentation these days is mostly in the form of the AppleEvent dictionary. If you look at the system events dictionary from Script Editor and in particular look at the XML and Property List suites you’ll find enough information to get started.

IMHO, it’s a good start, particularly for experienced scripters, but there should be more.

Thanks.. :) As long as I'm not alone on this one.. I was really only hoping to force the discussion..  I do understand that there is only so much time etc.. But it would be such a big benefit to have a comprehensive feature like this.
