I ran into a similar problem and decided to try ApplScript Editor's "record"
mode on the UI. It worked, and the resulting script did what I wanted.
Maybe that would work for you.

Paul
Does anyone have any suggestions or experience for scripting CN? Naturally, I’ve thought of trying UI scripting, but before I go down that road I thought I’d see if anyone else has tackled this problem yet.
