I'm no specialist, but I think you can include an osax in a "Scripting
Additions" (*with* space) folder inside your app's bundle to have it
available to your app.
Satimage does look like a really nice and useful piece of work, though.

Good information! THANKS! I'm forwarding this info back to the
AppleScript mailing list because somebody else might find it useful as well.
I don't think I'll do it for these particular products though. The
script is only needed briefly and is a relatively small part of the
installer, Satimage.osax is 1.5 MB and my C program is 32 KB.
For some later product or installer that actually relies more on
AppleScript, I'll consider it.
