The inability to copy/move and rename a file all at once seems strange
- especially to someone coming from Unix - until you consider that the
Finder is a UI first and foremost. There's no way for a user to
simultaneously move/duplicate and rename a file, so the Finder lacks
the ability as well. Frustrating, perhaps, but logical.
Since folks seem to be whipping out their tape measures, I'll
admit that I've only been programming for 25 years (unless you count
checking books on BASIC out of the library and writing programs on
paper with no computer in sight), but as restrictions go, this one
doesn't seem all that onerous.
