Hi Chris,

Thanks for asking:

I'd like to hear (on the list--please don't send me questions and complaints directly) specific issues that make using AppleScript difficult, especially regarding the language itself.

One of the most useful advances for me, and I'm sure many others, would be to ramp up AppleScript Studio to be a more viable development environment. There are so many needs, of which you're no doubt aware, including:


1. A reliable (even working) debugger, trace etc.

2. AppleScript access to properties of all UI elements, such as icon of an outline view item, items in the popup menu of a table cell.

3. Ability to share variables between scripts.

4. Handling of larger script files.

There are dozens of others, but the above are the first that come to mind.
