My guess is that the message is in a non-pop account. Or perhaps the message is in an imap account and you are not on-line. But, I really am just guessing, so something else could be involved. The point is that if Mail refuses to move a message from an inbox, then there is probably a good reason. What I do, and what you have to do, in a situation like this is to write and run short simple scripts that will discover that reason for you. My experience is that this may take a few hours ... or days.


(It took me some time to realize that a message belonging to an imap account may not be associated with an .emlx file on my computer. Or if it is, it's only a temporary copy of the original on the server.)
