I think that we designed it quite scalable. We use AppleScript to
process the requests, but we use more traditional techniques to
dispatch them before they finally get processed by AppleScript. In
particular, communications between apps at the first level works with
sockets, not with AppleEvents: that's what Smile Server was designed
for.
