No answers, but I'd like to extend the problem a bit.
How can one create a hard link - UNIX style - to the resource fork of a file? The ln tool gets all confused by the extra solidi that appear in the /namedfork/rsrc part of the "filename".
And how does one go about creating a symbolic link to the file that includes the resource fork when seen as an alias by Finder?
And why it's germane. . . What does the resource fork of a file have to do with a file label in OS neXt? How about for a special icon? Or have they gone by-by in OS neXt? I do know that setting "open with" for a single file creates a resource fork of about 50 kB if it's not there already. A copy of the selected application's icon is placed there.
