Title: Mounting server
Hello. I am using Extensis Portfolio 8.1.1 as an image archive. Files are collected on a remote server. This server volume must be mounted on the user’s local desktop in order to copy files from the server using Porfolio’s “Item --> Original --> Copy” command.

I know that servers can be mounted using Applescript. What I want to find out is whether there is some way to copy a file from the remote server without mounting it on each local desktop. I don’t know if options such as ftp are possible, but let’s assume for now that it’s not.

So, is there some way to specify a file path to a remote server and copy the file to the local desktop without actually mounting the server?

Thanks!
