Why would they bother?

3G technology is awful. I know, I've been saddled with it for over a year now :-(

Vodafone in the UK now advise all customers to switch off 3G unless they require video calls because you get bumped from the network when you move from cell to cell.

And who wants to pay twice for downloading a tune - once to Apple and again for the 3G bandwidth?

WiFi, Bluetooth and VoIP will suit me nicely.
