That depends on if you consider C-style and dot languages to be the
ultimate
in clarity and ease or not.
Traditional syntaxes do require some up-front learning before you can
interpret them, and nobody here is claiming otherwise. However,
unlike AppleScript syntax they have the significant advantage of
being completely regular and unambiguous, so once you do know how
interpret them it's easier to make out what they're saying.
Traditional syntax = short-term pain, but long-term gain.
AppleScript syntax = short-term gain, but long-term pain.
So while AppleScript syntax may look the tastier of the two, just
remember that there's no such thing as a free lunch. But hey, you
pays your money and takes your choice.
