It hasn't been that long since Apple shipped an application with no application support at all.

I hope your optimism is well founded. I don't know if I can wait that long (for the future). It seems that more and more these days I replace AppleScript solutions with something else. I still use it, and I still hope for it to be better supported, but given that it's been around for 15+ years and I still can't find the sine of an angle without evaluating x terms of the series, or without an OSAX or Deivy's math library, I'm not THAT hopeful (how hard can it be, given that trig functions are built into the goddam processor's floating point unit, I mean seriously).
