I do wish I could get that straight.
I once thought that only properties were saved but other posts on this list lead me to conclude that globals ARE saved, perhaps only if they appear in the main part of a script. I now ALWAYS initialize globals specifically.
The whole idea of a piece of software modifying its binary image and saving it to disk every time it is run remains a foreign concept to me. What's even stranger is that script editor seems - to me - to get confused when the same name is used for different things in two separate scripts that are both open for editing.
