  • Thread-topic: InDesign XML to select page item graphics

Hello,

I am trying to select linked graphics on the page in order to move/rotate
them, based on their XML tag. I can select tagged text, but I haven't been
able to find a way to select graphics.

Script sample (text on page tagged as "Tag3"):
"if (the name of the markup tag of x) = "Tag3" then set the selection to the
text of x"
results correctly in the tagged text being selected.

However, every other element of class "XML Element" that I've tried
(targeting a tagged linked graphic) results in the error "InDesign CS got an
error: Some parameter wasn't understood."

Trying element "Text" when targeting a graphic crashes InDesign.

What am I missing? Hope someone can help.

Thanks,
Brad
