Ah. My mistake (knew I shouldn't flip about from page to page). But
my point still stands -- ATDG is not a book on Applescript for the
Scared. People with programming experience who want to know things
like how AS handles scope, coercion, types, flow control, pass-by-
reference, handlers, objects etc will find it extremely useful.
Starting at the 'total idiot' stage myself, I'm just approaching the
point at which I'd be able to get something out of it after about a
year. If I'd picked it up first I'd have thought Applescript was the
province of experts or professional developers.
I'm not sure what level the enquiring gentleman is at, but he comes
across as needing Applescript for the Nervous, so I thought it was
worth pointing out, 'if you're nervous start a bit lower down, and
come back to that book when you've done the groundwork and can get
something out of it'.
OTOH, if I mistook his level of expertise and he's experienced on
other platforms but nervous about Applescript, he'd probably find it
very useful!
