POSIX path to file

Hi everybody,
I got stuck with a problem which seems quite simple.

set thePath to POSIX path of "MacOSX:Users:ronny:Desktop:Logs:"

I´ve used similar conversations many times without any problems.
But today the result of thePath remains "MacOSX:Users:ronny:Desktop:Logs:".

What is wrong here? Any hints
