And within minutes, I again got ... Error = 1 NSReceiveEvaluationScriptError:4

It pooped right after clicking a display alert button, so I knew what to look for. A little experimenting with 'display alert' reveals that 'button returned of the result' returns (you guessed it!) Unicode text. So I'll be inserting " as text" in a few more places to complete the deunicoding of my script.
