The 'nstexttopdf' shelle command works to a certain extent with many types of text files. I never use .doc but checked out a minimal one saved from TextEdit. You might get a better final product if you used Ms Wart HTML files piped through 'tidy' so as to clean up any non- standard tags.


/usr/libexec/cups/filter/nstexttopdf '' '' '' 1 '' "xxx.doc" > xxx.pdf
