And since you wear the hat of AS Eng how about

set some_list to {"I", "want","to","be","a","string"}
set some_string to some_list using text delimiters "whatever"

rather than the longer version:

• set variable to current delimiters
• set current delimiters to user defined
• coerce the list to string
• set delimiters back

here's to wishful thinking!
