I've now tried this:

tell application "Mail" to get its properties

in Leopard. I don't get a crash but the return value is not wrapped properly in the Script Editor result pane.

It is on mine.

I was getting the horizontal scroll bars activated in both panes. I zapped the Script Editor preferences and now the display is back to normal.

Script Editor has a new script styles format in the prefs. I don't understand how mine became corrupted because I did a virgin install of Leopard.

Let me see if I get it... It was virgin then it got corrupted... Hummm! Yes, it is kinda strange!
