One correction: the old AppleScript Language Guide dates from AS 1.3.7, just
after OS 8.6 was released, not "OS 7.6" as I said. It's remarkable how well
it has lasted - lots of new things have been added to AS but not much in the
Guide is actually wrong, up to Tiger. It dates from 1999, two years after
the Scripting Additions Guide (which latter would have been from the System
7.6 era, just before OS 8). The ASLG never became completely outmoded as the
SA Guide did.
