Hi,
according to Finder dictionary an alias file has the original item
property, but its value is returned only if the alias file can be
resolved (i.e. it is on a mounted volume).
There is any way under OS X to get the original item of an alias
pointing to a file or folder on a not mounted volume (like in the old
days of os9)?
nino
