InDesign CS3 place multiple pictures

I have a list of file references to pictures.
I want to throw them at the frontmost InDesign CS3 document and line
them up "at the cursor" so the user may just click to place them in
succession.
(The effect I want to mimic is what you get when you choose "File-
>Place" and choose multiple pictures from a single folder. The
script however will search a database and build a list of pictures
coming from various locations.)
--this is what I would like to do, (nonworking nonsense):
tell document 1 of application "Adobe InDesign CS3"
place aListOfFiles
end tell
Is this possible?
