If you prefer something more explicit, there's a two-step way to do it:

1) Create a FileMaker script that has only one ScriptMaker step, "Enter Browse Mode". Call the script something simple like "Force Browse Mode".

2)  In AppleScript:

do script FileMaker script "Force Browse Mode"
